For dealers
Dealer Terms
Eligibility and account categories
Membership is available to motor-trade businesses operating in the United Arab Emirates, under one of two account categories:
- Dealership account — requires a valid UAE trade licence covering the relevant vehicle-trading activity, an authorised contact person, business details and an active WhatsApp number;
- Independent car trader account — for individuals who buy and resell cars in their own name. No trade licence is collected, the account is clearly identified to customers as an independent car trader, is never represented by Carbai as a licensed dealership, and is currently limited to buying private-owner vehicles through Carbai.
Carbai’s account classification is a description of how the account presents on Carbai. It is not a trade licence, legal approval or endorsement of the user’s wider activity, and every user remains responsible for ensuring their own activity complies with the requirements that apply to them. We may request supporting documents before approving or continuing membership.
Buyer vehicle proposals and trade-in proposals are currently available only to eligible dealership accounts, unless Carbai expressly enables them for another account category.
Membership and trial
Carbai may offer a standard, founding or promotional trial; the applicable trial period is shown in the Dealer Portal, invitation or claim page. Unless otherwise stated, the trial begins when Carbai first makes a matched vehicle or buyer-request opportunity available to the dealer. No payment details are required during the trial and there is no auto-charge. After the trial, membership is AED 400 per month, plus VAT where applicable, payable in advance, and continues monthly until cancelled.
Portal access
Approved dealers may access matched vehicle opportunities, the wider approved-dealer opportunity feed, vehicle details and photographs, and seller notes approved for dealer display, through the Carbai Dealer Portal. The seller’s expected-value range is used only to route vehicles to relevant dealers and is not shown to dealers.
Making offers
Offers must quote the relevant vehicle reference and be made in good faith based on the information supplied. Offers are initial purchase offers and may be confirmed following physical inspection and document verification.
A buyer request may include the buyer’s stated budget for their next car. That budget is a matching constraint, not a Carbai valuation. For vehicles offered for sale, the dealer remains responsible for independently assessing the vehicle and determining its own offer.
When making offers, dealers must:
- submit offers in good faith and based on the available vehicle information;
- clearly state any conditions attached to an offer;
- not submit artificially inflated offers intended only to attract seller contact, or make unexplained reductions after inspection;
- keep vehicle information confidential and not republish vehicle photographs or information; and
- not attempt to identify or contact sellers outside the Carbai process.
Trade-in and car offers
Where Carbai shares a seller's next-car request, a dealer may respond with a car offer or a trade-in offer. Every such offer must:
- identify a specific vehicle the dealer holds in stock or has confirmed access to — “we can source something” is not an offer;
- describe that vehicle accurately, including year, mileage and specification;
- state a total car price that includes any mandatory dealership or administration charges (registration, insurance and finance costs are not included unless clearly stated);
- state any trade-in allowance as a separate figure, conditional on the purchase of the offered car and subject to inspection and documents;
- state how long the offer remains valid and that the car is subject to availability;
- not be a bait offer: the offered vehicle and figures must be genuinely available on the stated terms, without unexplained substitutions or reductions.
The dealer is the seller and supplier of any vehicle it offers, and is solely responsible for that vehicle, its description, pricing, warranty and the resulting transaction. Dealers must not contact the owner before the owner chooses to view the dealership's details and make contact. Carbai introduces and carries offers only: it does not inspect, sell, finance, negotiate, hold funds or become a party to any transaction.
Billing and payment
Membership is billed monthly in advance. Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider (Stripe); Carbai does not store your full card details. There is no automatic charge during a free trial unless you have expressly authorised payment and renewal. If a payment fails, we may retry the charge and may suspend access until the amount due is paid.
Dealers must not submit artificially high offers to obtain seller interest and then reduce them without a legitimate vehicle-condition, documentation or information-related reason.
Seller privacy
Carbai does not provide seller names, telephone numbers, email addresses or expected-value ranges to dealers. Dealers receive anonymised vehicle information only — never the seller’s identity, direct contact details or price expectations.
When a dealer submits an offer, Carbai may send the dealer’s business name, contact details and offer information to the seller. The seller independently decides whether to contact the dealer.
No circumvention
Dealers must not attempt to identify or contact sellers outside the Carbai process, or use Carbai vehicle information to transact around the service. Circumvention results in immediate termination of membership without refund.
Conduct
We may suspend or terminate dealers who make bad-faith offers, mistreat sellers, or otherwise harm the marketplace.
Cancellation
Membership can be cancelled at any time by messaging the Carbai WhatsApp number or emailing cars@carbai.ae. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no further payments are due after that.
Refunds and billing periods
Membership fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable once a billing period has started. Cancelling part-way through a period does not entitle the dealer to a partial refund, and access continues until the end of the paid period.
Renewal
Membership continues on a monthly basis until cancelled, with each new billing period payable in advance at the then-current rate. We will give reasonable notice of any change to membership pricing before it takes effect.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate membership for breach of these terms, including circumvention, bad-faith offers or misuse of vehicle or seller information. Where practical, we will notify the dealer of the reason. Termination for breach does not entitle the dealer to a refund.
Confidentiality
Vehicle details, photos and related information received through Carbai are confidential. Members may use them only to assess vehicles and make offers through Carbai, and must not share them outside their own business or use them for any other purpose.
Liability
Carbai provides an introduction and offer-delivery service and is not a party to any vehicle purchase. We do not guarantee the accuracy of information submitted by sellers, the availability of any vehicle, or the completion of any transaction. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carbai’s liability to a dealer is limited to the membership fees paid in the three months before the claim arose.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ras Al Khaimah.
